What I want from an AI assistant in 2027 (and why most of the current ones get it wrong)

Less autocomplete, more colleague. Fewer one-shot answers, more sustained context. The current generation of assistants are extraordinary parlour-trick demos and surprisingly tepid daily drivers.

A wishlist, written as if I were briefing the team — what “helpful” looks like for someone who already knows what they’re doing, and what I’d happily give up to get it.
